1. Legal Assistant

Description
We currently have an opening for a legal secretarial assistant with good working knowledge of law office procedures generally, and more specialized experience in one or more of the following areas:
• incorporations and corporate reorganizations;
• shareholder agreements, leasing agreements, employment agreements, and contracts of all types;
• the purchase, sale and financing of businesses;
• wills, probate, and administration of estates.

Position Requirements
The successful incumbent will be a graduate of a recognized legal assistant program with a number of years of quality practical experience, and will demonstrate the following attributes and skills:

• Care and compassion for clients and their needs;
• Accountability and attention to detail and results, with excellent proofreading and grammar;
• Respect, appreciation, and support for clients and members of the work team;
• Responsibility for delivering top quality work and services in a timely manner.

2. Intermediate / Senior Litigation Lawyer

The Intermediate / Senior Litigation Lawyer will provide strategic litigation and mediation services to a wide array of clients involved in business and commercial disputes, both simple and complex, including wrongful dismissals, construction litigation, shareholder disputes, contract claims, and collections.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to practice law in Alberta, and will possess the following competencies:

  • an understanding of commerce and of business issues;
  • strength of character and the ability to deal firmly, yet in a friendly and ethical manner, with other counsel;
  • ability to identify with clients and build strong relationships of trust and respect;
  • effective communication and persuasion skills, both oral and written ;
  • good file organization and administration, including use of litigation and other software;
  • absolute honesty, integrity and professionalism.

3. Intermediate / Senior Solicitor

The Intermediate / Senior  Solicitor will provide strategic advice and direction to a wide array of clients involved in business and commercial transactions, both simple and complex, including corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and residential purchases, sales, and mortgages, commercial leasing, construction, shareholder and joint venture agreements, equity financing, and franchises.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to practice law in Alberta, and will possess the following competencies:

  • an understanding of commerce and of business issues;
  • strength of character and the ability to negotiate firmly, yet in a friendly and ethical manner, with other counsel;
  • ability to identify with clients and build strong relationships of trust and respect;
  • effective communication and persuasion skills, both oral and written;
  • exceptional commercial agreement drafting skills;
  • absolute honesty, integrity and professionalism.
